Enrichment: Fashion Design Major
Come celebrate your creativity, be inspired by color and find
your inner-Armani. Fashion Design allows students to work
with professional instructors to develop a deep
comprehension of the fashion industry. By the end of the
session, students will understand the process – from start to
finish – of creating and assembling a fashion line.
The course will touch on all facets of design, including color theory, fabric selection, and fashion illustration. You'll discover how to drape fabric on yourself to visualize its potential as a garment or accessory, as well as how to create a pattern for it.
Learn the basics, research your ideas, define your personal style and acquire the sewing skills necessary to begin the garment's construction. From initial sketches to finishing touches, students will develop individual portfolios and critique the work of fellow student designers. Every student will participate in creating functional pieces of fashion with their instructor. The class will select several pieces for exhibition in a final fashion show.
