The Julian Krinsky Yesh Shabbat program is a premier summer educational experience for Jewish tweens and teens. Our program combines academics, arts, sports, and fitness with Shabbat and Kashrut to create the ideal setting for traditional Jewish youth.
Yesh Shabbat is a comfortable environment where Jewish boys and girls can live, learn and worship with their peers. It is an opportunity for them to grow in knowledge and understanding of traditional Judaism while enjoying world-class sports instruction or challenging academic classes.
Rabbi Oded Philip and his wife, Miri, will be joining the JKCP staff this summer as the Yesh Summer Program Directors. Rabbi Philip will be overseeing the religious aspects of the Yesh Shabbat Summer Camp. A father of two, he is currently the Hebrew Teacher and Israel Program Coordinator at Jack M. Barrack Hebrew Academy in Philadelphia and the Director of the Shabbat Youth Program at Lower Merion Synagogue. Previously, he was a Hebrew teacher at the Torah Academy of Philadelphia, where he coordinated cultural and religious activities for all grades.
Rabbi Philip received his rabbinical studies degree from Beit Midrash L’Torat Eretz Yisroel in Israel, followed by an advanced degree in rabbinical studies and a degree in education. He is committed to organizing schools, communities and Jewish youth in religious, cultural and Zionist events. In 2008, he was recognized as the National Activist of the Year by the American-Israel Political Action Committee.
